  • Internet in Germany Get a O2 Loop prepaid SIM (currently given away for free in Germany), top-up € 25 and get the Internet Pack L (30 days of unlimited HSDPA-access). But you should be aware, that all networks are under very high load at CeBIT, so 3G won't be the fastest and most reliable access to the web.
Regarding your friend he needs to get a SIM for his own, except you get some HSDPA-WiFi-Router and you both stay within it's range all the time. With a 24-month-contract you could get MultiCards from O2 (i.e. up to three identical SIM cards, that can have data sessions simultaneously), but there's no way on prepaid basis.
If your friend stays less than 10 days, he could get web access through Fonic, who offer day-flats for € 2.50. Fonic also uses the O2 network, so technically it's the same like O2 Loop.
O2 Loop and Fonic are both described detailled in articles on this wiki.

  • Prepaid wireless in Germany Fonic also allows occasional use for €0.24 per MB. Another big plus with Fonic is that you can make calls to US and any EU landline for 9ct per minute !
You can but the Fonic card ( €10 ) at any LIDL supermarket. LIDL is huge, so you should be able to find one in every city in Germany.

  • Internet Access Yes, you just need to configure event.vodafone.de as APN, establish a connection and open some random web page. No matter what address you enter, you'll be redirected to the Vodafone WebSessions portal, where you can order your desired WebSession, which can be paid by the prepaid credit, special WebSession vouchers or directly by credit card. So if you own a credit card you don't need to top up your SIM's credit in order to use WebSessions, but you can pay directly for each session.
But you may also be interested in Fonic, who offer a dayflat for just € 2.50 (http://prepaid-wireless-internet-access.wetpaint.com/page/Germany+-+Fonic), however Fonic charges by day and not by 24 hours as Vodafone does. If you plan to access the internet on more than 4 days, you should consider getting a SIM from Tchibo (http://prepaid-wireless-internet-access.wetpaint.com/page/Germany+-+Tchibo), who offer 30 days for just € 19.95. During a promotional offer valid until May 12th, Tchibo offer their SIM card including 50 free minutes for the first month plus 10 free SMS monthly for the first year for absolutely free including free shipping. Unfortunately they ship only within Germany.
To order go to http://www.tchibo.de/maedchen put the SIM into your shopping cart ("in den Warenkorb legen"), check out ("Warenkorb / Kasse") and enter "NEWSIM" as discount code (input field below "Geschenkkarte / Gutschein einlösen") and redeem it ("einlösen").

  • Alditalk voice simcard works with tagesflat rate You can use any of the new data tariffs with your Aldi SIM. For the daily flatrate just make sure you use the correct APN (tagesflat.eplus.de). For the monthly flatrate you would have to use the regular APN (internet.eplus.de) and activate the flatrate by *121*004#.
However eplus still doesn't support HSPA and their 2G and 3G network is often congested, so you might be interested in Fonic, who offer a daily flatrate for EUR 2.50 on the o2 network, which has widespread HSPA-coverage and wider EDGE-coverage. Besides their data tariff Fonic also have decent internationl rates - most western countries are available at € 0.09/min.
