In December 2008, o2 has started to offer a prepaid pay and go mobile broadband package. It seems that at this point it is required to buy the SIM card together with a 3G USB modem (a Huawei E160) for around 30 pounds.
Payment must be made online after logon to the network with a credit card. The O2 web site does not mention if all credit cards or only national credit cards can be used. The following options are available:
- Daily: 2 pounds / 500 MB max.
- Weekly: 7.5 pounds / 7.5 GB max.
- Monthly: 15 pounds / 15 GB max.
- APN: m-bb.o2.co.uk
- Username: o2bb
- Password: password

I called o2 and asked if there Pay&Go-SIMs work with an iPhone as well. The hotline told me, it work as long as you top up £15 and activate the mobile data plan. Then you're good to go :D
Let's hope that's going to work as the told me... I'm going to write as soon as I tried it... |
