Vodacom Prepaid and Top Up customers now benefit from the same mobile data services as Contract customers.
To bolt a mobile data bundle onto your existing Prepaid or Top Up voice package simply:
Rates start at R 88.00 for 75mb (aprox US$12.50), R 119.00 for 150mb (aprox US$17.00) up to R 1989.00 for 10gb (aprox US$282.00).
How do I set-up my cellphone to get Internet access?
Many new cellphones are already set up. You can also use the MyPhone service, by dialling *111# from your cellphone, select device setup, then follow the prompts. The settings will be sent to your cellphone, which you need to save to enable.
The Internet-APN is "internet"
How to buy a SIM-Card
You can buy a SIM card (Starter-Kit) at many Supermarket-Stores and many other locations. A Starter Kit should not cost more than 30 Rands (at the Airport the Starter Kits cost sometimes over 500 Rands!). You not need a passport or id-card.
