As of Nov-08, Celcom's 3G infrastructure was not compatible with the iPhone 3G, and would result in frequent data drops (verified with 3 different iPhone 3G's w/ 3 different SIM's). Celcom does not have an EDGE infrastructure, so disabling 3G would result in a drop to GPRS speeds.
