Globul introduced prepaid data packs under the brand "GoWeb" in February 2009. These data packs are only available for special GoWeb SIM cards, but not for regular (voice-)prepaid SIM cards ("b-connect").
GoWeb SIMs are sold in a bundle with a HSDPA-USB-modem (ZTE MF 632) and 2 GB of free traffic valid for 31 days, which is called GoWeb 2GB + 3G Connect Center, for 99,90 Lv (= € 51,07). Sole SIM cards come with 1 GB of free data volume valid for 31 days, are designated GoWeb 1GB and cost 29,90 Lv (= € 15,29). GoWeb is available at GloBul shops and at Globul's distributors, such as Germanos, Globalnet, "da, da" and Office 1 Superstore.
For recharging credit after the initial inclusive volume has expired, top-up vouchers for GloBul's prepaid product "b-connect" can be used, which are sold at all kind of shops, gas stations, restaurants etc.

network
Globul is a subsidary of Greek Cosmote, who launched their Bulgarian network in 2001. It covers nearly the whole country (except for few mountainous areas) with GSM900/1800, while 3G service (UMTS2100) including HSDPA/HSUPA-support with 7.2 MBit/s of downstream and 2 MBit/s of upstream has also been widely rolled out in the more populated regions. Unfortunately Globul's GSM-network lacks EDGE-support, so outside of 3G-coverage data rates are limited to 80 KBit/s, which is a major disadvantage compared to M-Tel.

data options
There are four data options available:

  • GoWeb 512 MB with validity period 31 days for 19,90 Lv (= € 10,17) - SMS with text GA51 to 125 (free of charge)
  • GoWeb 512 MB with validity period 93 days for 29,90 Lv (= € 15,29) - SMS with text GA53 to 125 (free of charge)
  • GoWeb 1 GB (1024 MB) with validity period 31 days for 29,90 Lv (= € 15,29) - SMS with text GA101 to 125 (free of charge)
  • GoWeb 1 GB (1024 MB) with validity period 93 days for 39,90 Lv (= € 20,40) - SMS with text GA103 to 125 (free of charge)
Multiple subscription of these data packs is possible even before the volume of the previous option has been consumed. Exceeding traffic is billed with 2,40 lv/MB (=€ 1,23/MB), so it may be reasonable to subscribe to a further volume-pack!

activation
The initial SIM doesn't require any acitivation. To subscribe to a further data-pack send a text message (SMS) with GA51, GA53, GA101 or GA103 to 125.
validity period
  • data packs are valid for 31 or 93 days from the activation date
  • validity of data packs can be prolonged by ordering another data option.
  • when the bundle expires, the unused volume is not being carried over with next activation.
  • the GoWeb SIM itself is valid for 12 months after the last top-up.

check the remaining volume
  • Send a SMS with "GC" to 125 (free of charge) and you will receive a text stating the remaining data volume and validity.

important to know

  • Automatic notification by SMS will follow...
    • when you have consumed 70 % of the included volume of you package
    • when there are 5 days left until your package expires
    • after every recharging
    • in case you send a SMS with wrong content to 125
    • In case the credit of your SIM card is not enough to cover the cost of the desired GoWeb package
  • All prices include VAT and are valid only for the Globul network.
  • 1 МВ (Megabyte) is equal to 1024 kb (Kilobytes).
  • Charging increments of data options: per 100 KB
  • Price per MB after exceeding the volume: 2.40 lv/MB (billed in 100 KB increments)

Hi,

I'm visiting Bulgaria (from India via Frankfurt) starting 26 June 2009 and returning by 5 July 2009.
I shall be arriving Sofia airport and shall be in Kazanlak and Starra Zagora mostly apart from Sofia.
I have a Wi-Fi/bluetooth/Ethernet/PC MCI reader on my Dell Vostro laptop and also I have a HTC Touch (edge enabled) phone. They are inter connectible. I can use my existing SIM in some other phone, so this phone can be dedicated to internet if required.

Where can I buy Wireless Internet access for my Laptop. It may not be high speed and will not be connected all the time. I need the connection that is cheapest but reliable.

please contact me:
